New Construction Planned for Overlook Drive

The town this month received an application to build a 4,500-square-foot home at 142 Overlook Drive, where a 1954 split-level house had stood. The new single-family dwelling on the one-acre parcel will include five bedrooms and bathrooms, according to an application filed with the New Canaan Building Department. It will cost about $1.5 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job will be New Canaan-based Amgine LLC, it said, the architect Ridgefield-based David Moore Architecture and Design LLC. The property was purchased in April for $960,000, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Llewellyn Drive

A new 10,000-square-foot home is planned for 140 Llewellyn Drive in New Canaan, according to a building permit application filed Oct. 2 with the town. The six-bedroom house will include five full bathrooms, one half-bath and a finished basement of 3,096 square feet, according to the application. The first and second floors each will have eight rooms and the finished basement will include one of the bedrooms as well as rec and exercise rooms, the application said. The structure will cost about $1,050,000 to build, it said.

New Construction Planned for Bickford Lane 

The town on Oct. 7 received an application to build a new two-story home on a Bickford Lane parcel where a 1963-built ranch-style house had stood. The new construction planned for 36 Bickford Lane will include four bedrooms and seven bathrooms in a 3,984-square-foot living space on the first and second floors, with a 1,557-square-foot finished basement, according to the building permit application. 

The contractor on the job will be Paul Hertz of Darien and the architect is La Vigra Associates of Ridgefield, the application said. The house will cost about $1,095,600 to build, it said. The property was purchased one year ago for $724,900, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Smith Ridge Lane

The town on May 28 received an application to build a 5,550-square-foot home on Smith Ridge Lane. 

The new five-bedroom house at 6 Smith Ridge Lane is to include four full bathrooms and two half-baths, according to a building permit application. 

It will include $842,000 to build, according to the application. 

The contractor and architect on the job is New Canaan-based Matthew R Dougherty Architect LLC, the application said. The two-acre property, located in the four-acre zone, was acquired six years ago for $1,685,000, tax records show. The town in November 2016 had issued a demolition permit for the 1953-built Colonial that had stood there, according to building records.

New Construction Planned for Raymond Street, Hillcrest Road

About one year after neighbors voiced concerns for a proposed two-family home on a .36-acre lot, the New Canaan Building Department on May 17 received an application to build a new 4,800-square-foot single-family dwelling on the property. The proposed five-bedroom house at 27 Raymond St. would include six full bathrooms, one half-bath and a finished attic and basement, according to the building permit application. It will cost about $500,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Norwalk-based Marcin Pyda, one of the principals of the ownership group, Raymond LLC.
