A new 10,000-square-foot home is planned for 140 Llewellyn Drive in New Canaan, according to a building permit application filed Oct. 2 with the town.
The six-bedroom house will include five full bathrooms, one half-bath and a finished basement of 3,096 square feet, according to the application. The first and second floors each will have eight rooms and the finished basement will include one of the bedrooms as well as rec and exercise rooms, the application said.
The structure will cost about $1,050,000 to build, it said. The contractor on the job is Jericho, N.Y.-based Woodcrest Homes LLC and the architect is Wilton-based Dennis Peters Designs.
The 2.06-acre property now includes a 1961-built ranch-style home about one-fourth the size of what is planned, tax records show.
It had been purchased in November 2012 for $1,210,127.
