Police arrested a 31-year-old Mount Vernon, N.Y. man on a felony charge in connection with the theft in November 2012 of a $30,000 Rolex from an Elm Street jewelry store.

On Nov. 19, 2012—about one year prior to the brazen daytime armed robbery at the store—a well-dressed man walked into Henry C. Reid & Son and asked to see the watch, according to a police report. When the jeweler showed it to him, the man grabbed the watch and ran out the front door, the report said.

Police were able to identify the man as Charles Moye and their active investigation was closed when they served a warrant for his arrest at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 while he was being held by Glastonbury Police, the report said. He is charged with first-degree larceny, a felony offense.

Moye is also wanted in connection with thefts from Greenwich and Glastonbury, as well as Millburn Township and Clarkstown, N.J., police said.

Glastonbury police were holding Moye on unrelated charges.

He’s in custody in Glastonbury and a court date for the New Canaan charges has not yet been set, police said.

Henry C. Reid & Son jeweler consolidated its business at a Fairfield store earlier this year.
