Police last Monday night cited a 26-year-old Lakeview Avenue man on minor drug charges.
At about 8:12 p.m. on Aug. 24, an officer on Lakeview and Route 123 spotted a motorist traveling with an air freshener hanging from his rearview mirror, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer deployed New Canaan Police K-9 unit, Apollo, and during an exterior search of the car the dog indicated that narcotics were inside, the report said.
A search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana under the front passenger seat, police said.
The motorist was cited for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana, obstructed view (for the air freshener) and failure to carry an insurance card.
