Police on Wednesday arrested a 20-year-old New Canaan man following a report that was poking someone with a sword.
At about 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, officers were dispatched to a home on Logan Road on a report that the man was using the sword to poke another occupant of the house, police said.
There, officers found no visible injuries on the victim and discovered that the 20-year-old had fled, according to a police report.
Police found him across the state line, in Pound Ridge, N.Y., the report said.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree reckless endangerment. Under state law, a person is guilty of reckless endangerment in the second degree “when he recklessly engages in conduct which creates a risk of physical injury to another person.”
It isn’t clear whether or how the arrested man is related to the victim. Police withheld further information, classifying the matter as a domestic incident.
He was held on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 17 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
