New Construction Planned for Canoe Hill Road

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to build a 1,785-square-foot dwelling on what the assessor database lists as a vacant parcel on Canoe Hill Road. The one-bedroom, two-bathroom residence at 221 Canoe Hill Road will include seven total rooms, according to a building permit application filed March 31. The 3.16-acre lot sits in the two-acre zone. The property had been purchased in June 2018 for $1,525,000, tax records show. Demolition permits were issued that fall.

New Construction Planned for Brinckerhoff Avenue

The town last week received an application to build a 3,210-square-foot house at the corner of Brinckerhoff Avenue and Route 106. 

The new four-bedroom home at 8 Brinckerhoff Ave., formerly 48 Bank St., will include a master bedroom and bath, according to the application, filed March 24 by a limited liability company whose principal is a New Canaan man, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records. It will cost about $480,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Sillo Construction LLC, and the architect is Steven Lecher of New Canaan, it said. According to tax records, 8 Brinckerhoff Ave. includes .2 acres, while an adjoining property at 46 Bank St., purchased one year ago by the same LLC, includes .21 acres.

New Construction Planned for Gower Road

The town on March 12 received an application to build a 3,900-square-foot house on a .32-acre Gower Road parcel. 

The new house at 57 Gower Road will include four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, two half-baths and an attached two-car garage, according to the application. 

It will cost about $650,000 to build, the application said. The contractor/architect on the job is Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Karl Nelson LLC. Nelson is the principal of the ownership company, state records show. The property had been purchased for $705,000 in August and a demolition permit was issued the next month for a 1,688-square-foot ranch-style house on the lot. 

New Construction Planned for Locust Avenue

The New Canaan Building Department on March 3 received an application to build a 2,310-square-foot home on a .27-acre lot in the B Residential zone. The single-family home planned for 102 Locust Ave. would have eight total rooms, including three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, as well as an attached two-car garage, according to the application. 

The construction project is estimated to cost about $350,000, the application said. The contractor on the job is Stamford-based Thomas Sturges Construction, the architect McMillon Architects of Ridgefield, it said. The property was purchased last summer for $325,000 by a limited liability company, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Mariomi Road

The New Canaan Building Department this month received an application to construct a new 7,053-square-foot home where a 3,000-square-foot split-level house had stood. The five-bedroom single-family home at 282 Mariomi Road is to include six full bathrooms and a three-car garage, according to a building permit application filed Nov. 14 on behalf of the property’s owner. The town last month issued a permit to demolish the 1955-built house that stood on the 2.5-acre property (in the two-acre zone), records show. The property had been purchased in August for $690,000.
