Curt Casali was part of history Tuesday as the Tampa Bay Rays topped the Cuban National Team 4-0 in Havana. The 2007 New Canaan High School grad drove a single to left field in his only plate appearance of the game played in front of US President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro. It was the first time an MLB team played in Cuba since 1999. Casali is hitting .333 (5-15) this spring and projects to be the Rays’ starting catcher when they break camp next week.
