Randy, the brindle Chihuahua mix found roaming over on Carter Street in July and already adopted out once into a home that didn’t work out for him, has found his forever home, officials say. According to Animal Control Officer Maryann Kleinschmitt, Randy found a “great home” in Norwalk with two sisters. He was adopted on Christmas Eve and “home for the holidays,” Kleinschmitt said.

New Canaan Police Officer Scott Romano and Sgt. Andrew Walsh were honored during an awards presentation at the Dec. 17 Police Commission meeting.
Romano won the Perkin Shoot Trophy, while Walsh won the Commissioners’ Shoot Award—part of the officers’ ongoing firearms training.
Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said the Perkin family sponsors the department’s qualification each year and the highest score each year gets an award from Mr. Perkin.

Rob Perkin spoke on behalf of his family, addressing both winners and their families: “As in years past, I just want to congratulate the recipients, and on behalf of my family, we certainly do and it’s always a great honor to be here for this very special occasion. My father would certainly be very proud of everything that is being done here at headquarters for the community of New Canaan. And on behalf of my family, I’d like to extend a very Merry Christmas to you all and a very Happy New Year.”

Work is underway on the 1910 Tudor at 85 Rosebrook Road that sold in May for $5,850,000. Demolition permits have been issued this month for a guest house and 3-car garage at the house, owned by Jumping Cat LLC, a limited liability company formed in March in Delaware (though the building permits show a Fort Mitchell, Ky. address).
