First Selectman Rob Mallozzi has been a major fan of the Syracuse University Orangemen since his daughter, 2014 New Canaan High School graduate Kit, began attending the upstate New York school last fall. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Bryan Luizzi is an alumnus of Clemson University, which this year boasts the undefeated No. 1-ranked college football team in the nation. So things didn’t look for the first selectman when the two squared off Saturday at the Carrier Dome, where the Tigers kept things rolling with a 37-27 win.

Here in New Canaan, that settled the 2nd-annual gentleman’s bet between the two town leaders, and the first selectman’s punishment is to wear a Clemson Tigers hat all day long. Above you’ll find a video of the coronation.

  1. Not a bad performance by my Orange(men) losing to the #1 team in the country by 10. Herein lies the problem…they lose to EVERYONE by 10.
