Letter: Kevin Moynihan for First Selectman

Dear Editor,

I am writing to endorse for election on November 5th, our incumbent candidate for First Selectman, Kevin Moynihan. In his two years of service to our community, Kevin has brought as strong sense of business management ability to our town government.   He has been able to identify key issues of concern to our community, digging deep on the numbers related to parking, efficient management of town hall, and the much needed improvement of cell service to our suburban community. His background in law and management of a public company has allowed him to serve us with efficiency in our community. His experience in town government as an elected member of Town Council for four years adds invaluably to having Kevin continue as our first selectman.

Letter: Kevin Moynihan for First Selectman

As an unaffiliated voter and a New Canaan resident for 27 years, I have supported many Democrats and Republicans in our town. It never matters to me which party they belong to. What matters most to me is the character of the person, a commitment to the job, and doing what’s best for this great town of ours. I have known Kevin Moynihan for over seven years now. He was one of the first leaders in town to embrace Grace Farms Foundation and understand the value of Grace Farms to the New Canaan community back in 2012—many years before it opened. Kevin supports open land, additional parking spaces, cell towers to improve coverage for all residents, a top-notch school system, and providing the best town service to our residents and guests. Kevin does this while keeping an eye on finances and minimizing waste. I know this, because I have been a colleague of Kevin’s on the Board of Finance for the past two years.  He doesn’t care about your political affiliation as long as you can help make New Canaan an even better town. I know. I was appointed by Kevin to be the first unaffiliated member of the Board of Finance in the history of New Canaan. When I go to the voting booth next month, I will be voting for both Republicans and Democrats, depending on who I believe is the best candidate for each position. For first selectman, that person is Kevin Moynihan. Letter: Re-Elect Moynihan-Williams

Editor, New Canaanite,

We all love New Canaan and want to preserve its rich heritage and historical charm. We have worked hard to provide a top-ranked educational system, an abundance of organizations, activities and amenities for people of all ages. Continuing pressures from Hartford have placed us in a precarious situation. Efforts to remedy the financial distress have resulted in increased taxes making it even more difficult for businesses to expand. Companies, jobs and retirees have all left for more tax-friendly states.

Letter: Kevin Moynihan for First Selectman

Kevin Moynihan has done an excellent job in his two years as First Selectman. His record of accomplishments is outstanding. He has earned another two years at the helm. Kevin has made progress on the problems that have nagged the town for years. He has improved parking availability, made natural gas a reality, and progressed cell phone coverage.

Kevin has attacked the sustainability of the town and low utilization of the town buildings.
