Police after midnight Thursday cited a 30-year-old Stamford man for a drug violation after finding a small amount of marijuana during a traffic stop.
At about 12:08 a.m. on Sept. 29, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle traveling southbound on Old Stamford Road with a non-illuminated front license plate, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled pot emanating from the vehicle, the report said.
An investigation followed and the Stamford man, a passenger in the vehicle, was issued ticket for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana, an infraction offense.
The driver was cited for not displaying a front license plate.
