Police on Monday arrested a 59-year-old Wallingford man and charged him with larceny and interfering.

At about 9:50 a.m. on Aug. 5, officers were dispatched to a Grove Street business on a report of a man who had been inside on Saturday acting in a concerning manner and who had taken several items from the business without permission, according to a police report.

The complainants provided a photo of the man’s vehicle and license plate, which authorities traced to a stolen U-Haul truck out of Manchester, the report said.

Investigators found the truck and the man at the Gulf Station on South Avenue, it said.

He didn’t cooperate with police, giving several different names when asked to identify himself, the report said.

Police charged him with second-degree burglary, fifth-degree burglary and interfering with an officer.

He was held on $15,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
