Police on Thursday afternoon arrested a 39-year-old Prospect Place man by warrant in connection with a single-car crash over the summer.

At about 9:38 p.m. on Aug. 7 (a Sunday), officers were dispatched to Park and Main Streets after a car crashed into a tree, according to a police report.

Investigators found that the driver had been traveling northbound on Main Street when he veered off the road and struck a tree, the report said.

They obtained a search warrant and found that his blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, it said.

At about 3 p.m. on Oct. 18, the town resident turned himself in to police on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. He also was cited for operating a motor vehicle while using a handheld mobile device, failure to drive right and failure to wear a seatbelt.

The man was released on $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 1 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
