Police cited an 18-year-old New Canaan girl last Tuesday night on misdemeanor drug and alcohol charges after someone called in a suspicious car parked on a cul-de-sac.
Police at about 8:51 p.m. on Jan. 6 arrived on Ludlowe Road and found the girl at the wheel of a 2012 Jeep Compass with two passengers.
There, police spotted several bottles of alcohol in the rear hatch area and front passenger floor, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, the department’s public information officer.
Searching the car, the officer found four unopened cans of beer, three bottles of vodka—one unopened, another nearly full and a third with just a little left, a full bottle wine and a bottle of Bacardi rum that was one-quarter full, according to a police report.
Police also found a small pouch that had smoking pipes and a vaporizer with marijuana residue, as well as rolling papers, the report said.
The teen, who gave a home address on Ludlowe Road, told them that the alcohol was her parents and left over from New Year’s Eve, police said.
She was issued infraction summonses for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor. The passengers were not charged, police said.
