Police arrested a 19-year-old Westport man before dawn Saturday after failed field sobriety tests at Waveny.
At about 1:46 a.m. on Aug. 9, police saw a group of men standing near Waveny House, according to a police report. When the men spotted the cop, they tried to run behind a wall at the park, and the 19-year-old tried to leave the area in his car, the report said.
Police could smell alcohol on his breath when they stopped him, and saw that he had glassy eyes. He was charged with driving under the influence.
The teen was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 21 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
