Police arrested a 37-year-old Pound Ridge, N.Y. man late Saturday night after he yanked a woman out of a car in New Canaan after she told him that she wanted to go home while he wanted to continue “partying,” according to a police report.
At about 11:59 p.m., police arrived at Hoyt Farms and New Norwalk Roads following a report that a woman had been thrown from a vehicle whose occupants then fled the scene, police said.
The woman, from New York state, suffered bruises and cuts to her right knee, the report said. She told officers that she’d been in the car with two men she knew and told them she wanted to go home but they didn’t, police said. The woman was taken to Norwalk Hospital while police searched for the men. After a time, police in Pound Ridge contacted police and said they found the men. The one who removed the victim from the car is related to her, police said.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. Police released him after promising to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
Police categorized the incident as a domestic matter.
