New Haven Man Arrested for Threatening Staff at Treatment Facility

A New Haven man threatened to harm a staff member at a residential treatment facility in New Canaan on Thursday night, Aug. 3, and was arrested the next day, town police said.

New Canaan police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven i court:

Police were contacted by staff at the facility on Thursday. The man did not threaten to harm a specific staff member, rather just “someone” on the faculty

New Canaan Police found the man at his New Haven home, where New Haven Police temporarily took him into custody. New Canaan officers then took him into custody at about 9:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4.

He was charged with second-degree threatening and held at New Canaan Police Headquarters on a $75,000 bond, which he posted Saturday afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 15.
