The owner of a .5-acre lot on Harrison Avenue that sold in October for $1.1 million on Tuesday applied to build a new home there that will nearly triple the size of the Cape that’s stood since 1925.

Plans call for a 14-room home with 7,153 total square feet of living space, according to the application.

Designed by Greenwich’s Christopher Hull and to be built for an estimated $900,000 by Ken Weldon of Shelton, the home will include six bedrooms, a gym, media room, multi-purpose room, living room, dining room, office, kitchen and family room, according to the application.

A building permit application came in Monday for 386 White Oak Shade Road, which sold in December for $586,000.

The new home will have five bedrooms and full bathrooms, as well as one half-bath, an unfinished attic and basement and covered front porch and 2-car attached garage.

It will cost an estimated $665,260 to build, and the contractor is Oxford-based Guerrera Construction Co. Inc. Specs by Botsford-based Fine Home Design LLC.
