New Canaan police say they’re investigating three forced-entry residential burglaries perpetrated in town between Dec. 10 and 30.
Thieves stole jewelry during Dec. 10 burglaries from homes on Gower and Rosebrook Roads, and from a Douglas Road home on Dec. 30, according to Lt. Jason Ferraro, public information officer of the New Canaan Police Department.
In the most recent incident, surveillance video caught three Hispanic men ringing a front doorbell “several times prior to forcing entry,” Ferraro said. The men spoke Spanish while inside the home and a neighbor’s camera showed a silver or gray four-door sedan in the area at the time of the break-in, he said.
Officials are “actively investigating all three of these burglaries and working with neighboring jurisdictions to try and solve these incidents,” Ferraro said in a media bulletin. “The New Canaan Police encourage all residents to set residential alarms and install surveillance video cameras. As always never hesitate to contact the police to report anything that appears suspicious or unusual.”
Residents can phone either 203-594-3500 or 9-1-1, depending on what they see.
