Police are investigating the reported theft of a $100 cellphone that went missing somewhere between Stamford and New Canaan during a four-hour window last week.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, an 84-year-old town resident at 6:07 p.m. on Feb. 6 told police that the device was taken from the side pocket of her purse somewhere between a CVS on Hope Street in Stamford and Walter Stewarts Market in New Canaan, between 12 and 4 p.m.

At 4:18 p.m. on Feb. 5, a 56-year-old Chester, Conn. woman turned herself in on a warrant after failing to appear in court on Jan. 24. Police say she neither paid nor pleaded to an infraction summons for two counts of allowing a dog to roam—a ticket issued in October. She was released on $200 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 14 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
