A 55-year-old New Canaan man is one of two motorists cited for passing a stopped school bus on Route 123, police say. At about 7:37 a.m. on Feb. 10, two cars passed through the stop sign extended from the side of a bus traveling north on Route 123 in the area of Hill Street, according to a police report. A 62-year-old South Salem, NY man was driving the second vehicle, police said. The bus driver reported the violation, after reviewing video (there are cameras on school buses for this purpose), police saw the license plates on both vehicles and each motorist was fined $465, police said.
Police arrested a 13-year-old Hawks Hill Road boy and his mother after an argument at home escalated and became physical.According to a police report, at about 6:29 p.m. on Feb. 12, the mother, 46, either tossed or pushed to the floor a dish with food during the argument, prompting the teen to strike her in the face.The youth was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. His case was referred to the Juvenile Matters Division at state Superior Court in Stamford. He was scheduled to appear Feb. 18.The mother was charged with disorderly conduct and scheduled and released after promising appear Feb.

With his opponent handling the ball high and away from his body, Graber made a clean steal and headed up the floor for an easy layup. “He dribbled the ball and didn’t put his hand out,” said Graber, a student at South School. “I just went and charged after it and I tried to score.”
Later in the game, Graber used a head fake to clear some space from two taller, older defenders.
