New Canaan Police arrested a 23-year-old Milford man by warrant on Monday and charged him with three counts of second-degree harassment.
Last month, on Jan. 22, police heard a complaint of harassment in connection with a family dispute in town, according to a police report. The victim, a New Canaan resident, reported that he or she had been harassed by the Milford man, the report said.
It isn’t clear what he is accused of doing or to whom—police are classifying the matter as a domestic incident.
On Monday, police in Milford notified New Canaan that he was in custody, it said. Just after 10:30 a.m. Monday, New Canaan Police served the warrant.
The man was released on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
Police Chief Leon Krolikowski has called domestic violence “New Canaan’s violent crime.” The New Canaan Domestic Violence Partnership has operated in New Canaan for more than 10 years. It’s part of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center which, its website says, is “dedicated to the task of helping you and your children find ways to live your lives in peace, without the threat of violence, intimidation or abuse.” The DVCC can be reached 24 hours per day at 888-774-2900.
