Police last week cited a 25-year-old Stratford man for minor drug violations after finding pot and smoking gear in his car during a traffic stop.

At about 4:54 p.m. on Dec. 15, a Thursday, an officer on patrol spotted a “mutilated license plate” on a vehicle traveling on New Norwalk Road, according to a police report.

The vehicle also did not have a rear marker light, the report said.

During a subsequent stop, the officer spotted a marijuana-smoking pipe in plain view on the dashboard, it said.

The officer then found a second pipe in the car as well as a grinder, the report said.

Police cited the driver for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
