Police arrested a 54-year-old Ludlowe Road mom on drug and alcohol charges, including one felony offense, after police on Saturday night discovered an underage drinking party in her home.

At about 9:34 p.m. on March 7, police responded to the home on an anonymous tip, and told the woman who answered the door why they were there, according to a police report.

Inside the house, police found alcohol and, on hearing noises in a basement, entered to find a mess of empty cans and bottles, marijuana and smoking gear, and at least 25 teens running out the back through a screen door, the report said.

Many of the kids returned when called back to the house by police, and,according to Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, the department’s public information officer, they included:

  • two 17-year-old girls;
  • seven 16-year-old girls;
  • nine 16-year-old boys;
  • and seven 15-year-old boys.

Police charged her with failure to halt possession of alcohol by a minor and risk of injury to a minor, a felony offense, possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (a pipe and grinder).

She was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear March 18 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
