Police received a report of a larceny at New Canaan High School last Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.
During a track and field meet at the high school on Saturday, May 9, two starter pistols were stolen, according to a police report. The pistols were left on the scorer’s table, and around 6 p.m. when the pistols were to be retrieved, it was noticed that they were gone.
The pistols are valued at $125 apiece. They are described as black and are revolver style. One has an orange tip at the top, while the other does not, police said.

A resident on Hawks Hill Road reported a burglary to police on May 14, after arriving home at 2:20 p.m.
The 36-year-old male homeowner found his front door forced open, according to a police report. After he made the call, officers arrived to find that there were some items missing from the home. So far the missing items are: a Saco watch valued at about $300 and costume jewelry valued at about $300. The homeowner has yet to report if there are any other missing items.
The timeframe of the robbery, according the homeowner, was between 8:20 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. on May 14.

A woman reported the theft of a clutch purse from her vehicle to police on May 17.
At 4:57 p.m. police received the call that the 23-year-old female had parked her car in Morse Court (the parking lot alongside the Mobil Station), and came back to find her clutch purse stolen. The woman reported that she had parked her car in the lot at about 2:15 p.m., before going inside one of the stores nearby for about 30 minutes.
When she came back to her car she noticed that her clutch purse that she had left in the passenger seat was taken from her Jeep. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
The Sorial purse is six inches by four inches in size, and is described as tan with black speckles with a gold wristlet, police said. The value of the purse is $59. The purse contained the woman’s license and train tickets.

Police are investigating the theft of clothing stolen from a retail store on Main Street. On Monday, May 11, the owner of the store reported the shoplifting of the dress at 12:30 p.m.
Officers spoke with the owner of the store, who said that about 15 minutes prior to reporting the theft, a small-size, blue dress was stolen. The dress is said to have a value of $78, police said.
The owner of the store suspected that the thief was a young white female, possibly in her mid-20’s. The suspect is said to have had long brown hair and was wearing blue jeans with rips, police said. It was reported that the female went into the dressing room of the store with several items, before leaving quickly. It was after she left that it was noticed that the dress was gone. The store has no cameras, police said.

Police received a fraud report from a resident on Briscoe Rd last Monday (May 11) at 3:56 p.m.
The complainant, a 57-year-old male resident, went to file his taxes back on April 13 or 14, and was told by the IRS that someone had already filed using his name.

A fraud was reported to the Police Department May 12 following an instance of identity theft. The complainants, a husband and wife, 46 and 45, who reside on East Maple Street, reported the fraud at 8:26 p.m.
The husband told Police that he received a suspicious transaction on his American Express account. The transaction date was May 11 in the amount of $2,557 from Best Buy. The couple had not made any purchases from Best Buy, so they cancelled the card.
Later that evening (May 11), the complainants received an email from UPS with the tracking number of the stolen package that stated that there was a change in the pickup location of the item to a South Norwalk UPS location.
