Police last week arrested a 54-year-old New Canaan woman and 37-year-old Derby man at residences on Millport Avenue following two separate domestic disputes.

At about 8:42 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, officers were dispatched to a Millport Avenue home on a report of family dispute, according to a police report.

Following an investigation, police charged the woman with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, the report said.

It isn’t clear what prompted the argument or led to the assault charge—because it’s a domestic incident, police are not releasing details.

The woman was released after promising to appear April 14 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

At about 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, police were dispatched to a different residence on Millport on a complaint of a domestic dispute.

There, police conducted an investigation and charged the Derby man with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, a police report said.

Police released no further information, classifying the incident as a domestic matter.

The man was held on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear April 15 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
