Police on Tuesday night arrested a 65-year-old Bronx, N.Y. man suspected of trying to make fraudulent purchases at an Elm Street store.

At about 7:31 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Verizon store, where the man was trying to buy an $1,100 iPhone using another person’s account, according to a police report.

The man had in his possession a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license and a credit card with the same name as that license, the report said.

Following an investigation, police charged the man with second-degree forgery, third-degree identity theft, credit card theft and criminal attempt to fourth-degree larceny.

He was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
