A North Salem, N.Y. man faces a $460 fine for passing a stopped school bus on Jan. 6, police say.
Video surveillance from the bus showed that the 55-year-old motorist passed a bus that was stopped and with its lights flashing in the southbound lane while traveling southbound on lower Smith Ridge Road, according to a police report.
The school bus driver reported the incident on Jan. 12. The fined motorist must pay or plead.

Police at 9:40 a.m. on Jan. 12 arrested a 25-year-old East Avenue man by warrant and charged him with second-degree failure to appear.
He didn’t show up in court Dec. 23 after he was ticketed in October for operating a motor vehicle with his license under suspension.
He was released on $200 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 22 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

A 25-year-old Lakeview Avenue man was arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace after pushing his wife during an argument.
Police at about 6:43 p.m. on Jan. 15 were dispatched to Church and Main Streets on a report of a loud argument outside.
A passing pedestrian who had been walking his dog told police he saw a man flailing his arms but couldn’t say whether he’d struck or pushed the woman, according to a police report.
Police said the wife told them during an interview that she’d been pushed.
He was released after promising to appear Jan. 16 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
