Police are investigating the reported theft from an Elm Street women’s lingerie and swimwear shop last Tuesday afternoon of a $276 bathing suit.
At about 2:41 p.m. on June 16, police received a report that a tall, blonde, heavyset white woman in her late-50s had walked off with a black, size 16 1-piece swimsuit designed by Karla Coletto, according to a police report.
An employee had seen the woman in the back of the store and asked if she needed assistance, the report said. The woman replied that she did not and left about five minutes later, the report said. When she walked back to the rear area of the store, the employee saw a hanger and tags on the floor that hadn’t been there before, and noticed the suit was missing, the report said.
