Police are investigating a brazen burglary on Parish Lane this past weekend that saw about $3,200 in cash and items stolen from a home, possibly while the homeowner was there.

A 46-year-old woman reported the theft to police at about 8:45 a.m. Sunday. That morning, she found that a handbag left near an unlocked front door had gone missing, as well as some of the items that were in it.

The handbag itself is a Goyard-brand bag worth about $2,000, police said. Other items taken include $500 cash, “Face to Face” eyeglasses worth about $700, police said. Credit cards and an iPhone 6 were left behind, police said.

The woman said the items were there at about 10 p.m. Saturday night, and she discovered around 8:30 a.m. Sunday that they went missing, according to a police report.

  1. This is a pretty safe town, you might think; and it’s great to think who’s going to steal a $2,000 handbag from my unlocked car.
There are those who can’t wait to seize the moment when you least expect it.
Don’t allow yourself to be violated by these vultures, lock your car and if you don’t, at least bring your valuables in.
