An 84-year-old Laurel Road woman told police that a silver wedding band worth about $200 was stolen from her home last week, police said.
It happened some time between 1 and 4 p.m. on July 1 (last Tuesday), according to a police report.
When the woman returned home, she noticed that a window had been opened and, on going inside, that a screen had been forced open and dented, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department.
The ring was discovered to be missing from the bedroom—it’s the only item that appears to have been stolen, police said.
