A 1952 Cape Cod home on Fairty Drive with 1,835 square feet of living space soon will be demolished to make way for a new 5,000-square-foot home.
The 3-bedroom, 2-bath home at 59 Fairty Drive sold in January for $850,000.
On March 5, the town issued a permit to raze it.
Now, an application has gone to the Building Department for a 5-bedroom residence with four full bathrooms, two half-baths, a finished attic and 2-car attached garage. The construction (contractor is Dario Palladino & Son Construction of Stamford) is estimated to cost $550,000.
The tear-down appears to have had just one owner since 1968, when the property was purchasd for $41,500, tax records show.
Demolition permits also recently have been issued for 65 Kimberly Place, a 1940 Cape on a quarter-acre, and 474 Main St.
