Police last week cited an 18-year-old Oak Street man for possession of alcohol by a minor following a traffic stop.

At about 1:10 a.m. on Dec. 23, an officer saw a vehicle traveling on Main Street without headlights or tail lights displayed, according to a police report.

During a subsequent stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana in the car, the report said. An investigation turned up no pot, but did yield the discovery of seven unopened cans of beer and two unopened bottles of vodka, it said.

The Oak Street man, a passenger in the car, said the alcohol was his and was issued an infraction summons for the offense.
