Two Drug Arrests in New Canaan

Police on Monday afternoon arrested a 57-year-old New York state man by warrant in connection with a motor vehicle accident in September.

The Carmel, N.Y. man turned himself in on an active warrant stemming from a Sept. 20 accident where Main Street becomes White Oak Shade Road, according to a police report.

He was charged with driving under the influence, possession of narcotics, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to drive right.

Police released him on $3,000 bond and scheduled him to appear Jan. 18 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

A 42-year-old Waterbury man was arrested Saturday evening on multiple charges following a motor vehicle stop.

An officer checking the registration on the man’s car as it traveled south on Route 123 in New Canaan found it to be suspended, according to a police report.

After pulling the car over near Clapboard Hill and Little Brook Roads, the officer spotted two crack pipes inside, the report said.

The motorist was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, operating without insurance and operating without a license. He was released after promising to appear Jan. 14 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
