|
Police have arrested a 22-year-0ld New Canaan man whose name was on five checks that they said were stolen and forged from two local men in April. The two men, both 28 years old, had allowed a woman to stay in their home when she needed a home this spring. In April, one of the men told police he noticed that $300 in cash was missing, then found some checks were missing and had been cashed. Some of the cashed checks were made out to the woman or had her endorsement on them, according to police. Then, one of the roommates noticed $300 in cash missing from his room, and when confronted the woman guest told them she didn’t take it, according to a police report.
