The NewCanaanite.com Summer Internship Program is sponsored by Baskin-Robbins, Connecticut Sandwich Co., Joe’s Pizza and Mackenzie’s.

On a humid afternoon this week, NewCanaanite.com took a walk downtown to get an idea of what songs people are listening to this summer. Here’s what a few of them had to say:

Here are the top picks that these three girls came up with while relaxing on the patio outside of Starbucks:

  • Habits(Stay High) – Tove Lo
  • Sunshine – Matisyahu
  • Fancy – Iggy Azalea

“I like Sunshine because it makes me happy and it’s easy to dance to in the car,” Calli Wadsworth said.

These two sisters from Darien chose these two songs with a footnote that they enjoy “pretty much anything by Beyoncé.”

  • Part II (On The Run) – Beyoncé and Jay-Z

  • That Summer Feeling – Jonathan Richman

“I like how it’s evocative of summer memories,” he said.
