Police on Wednesday morning responded to an untimely death at an Old Stamford Road home, officials said.

Tipped by a third party, authorities at about 9:38 a.m. on June 26 traveled to the residence to check on the welfare of a person there, according to a press release issued by Lt. Jason Ferraro, public information officer of the New Canaan Police Department.

There, they found an unresponsive person and called in the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps to provide aid, Ferraro said in the release.

“The attempts to revive the individual were not successful and the individual was pronounced by a medic from Norwalk Hospital,” he said.

Ferraro called the incident “isolated” and said “no issue of public safety exists.”

It isn’t clear who died, whether the deceased is male or female or what age the person is, what was the manner of death or whether the individual left a note. Police withheld further information.
