Police are searching for a tall white man in his mid-20s who last week stole $70 worth of Norelco electric razor heads from Walgreens on Pine Street.
A 21-year-old assistant manager at Walgreens—a 2011 New Canaan High School grad, recently honored by police with a Civilian Service Award for his vigilant work in a separate investigation—notified police of the larceny around 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 30 (last Tuesday).
After discovering an empty box of the razor parts in a bathroom around 6 p.m., the Walgreens employee viewed surveillance video and saw the suspect enter the bathroom with the razors and walk out without them, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department.
The suspect was wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans, and no vehicle was seen exiting the Walgreens lot, Ogrinc said.
Police are investigating.
