Police: New Canaan Woman Arrested for FTA; Weston Man Charged After Stealing Nasal Inhalers

Police on Saturday arrested a 43-year-old New Canaan woman by warrant and charged her with second-degree failure to appear.

The Silvermine Road woman had failed to pay or plead to a number of a motor vehicle-related charges stemming from a Feb. 9 traffic stop, including operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, misuse of marker plates failure to display a turn signal, according to a police report.

Police took the woman into custody at her home on a paperless re-arrest warrant, the report said.

She was released on $495 bond and scheduled to appear June 13 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

A 29-year-old Weston man was arrested at 11 a.m. on June 2 and charged him with sixth-degree larceny.

At about 9:27 a.m. on May 22, officers had been dispatched to CVS on a report that five packages of Benzedrex nasal inhalers had been stolen, according to a police report.

The suspect exited the store and employees of the store obtained a license plate, the report said.

Based on video surveillance and witness statements, the man turned himself in to police, it said.

He was released after promising to appear June 12 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
