Police last week fielded a New Canaan High School student’s complaint that items went missing from her backpack after school.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, the girl said, she left the backpack in a hallway near the track coach’s office, according to a police report.
Two hours later, she came back to find that her wallet, $200 cash, student ID card and debit card were missing, the report said.
The NCHS school resource officer, Police Officer Jason Kim, is investigating.

A Highview Terrace man at 7:10 a.m. on Dec. 10 told police that three vehicles in his driveway had been entered some time after 11 p.m. the prior night.
The glove boxes in each vehicle were open with multiple items moved around, according to a police report, though it isn’t clear what was taken.
Police are urging residents to lock their cars and remove valuables, as criminals will target vehicles during the holiday season with the prospect that goods will be left in them.

Police are also investigating a report that came in on Dec. 7 about a home that appeared to have been burglarized some time between Dec. 4 and 6. A sitter was watching the house, which showed no signs of forced entry, police said. Multiple credit cards and numerous pieces of jewelry were reported missing, and the total value of what was stolen wasn’t immediately known.
