Police on Friday night cited five New Canaan teenagers for possession of alcohol by a minor.

At about 10:22 p.m. on March 6, officers were dispatched to the area of Deer Park and Turner Hill Roads on a report of individuals breaking glass in a roadway and loud music being played, police said.

Authorities responding to the area came upon an Uber vehicle occupied by the five teens, all male, according to a police report.

Following an investigation, police cited them for the infraction-level offense.

One of those charged was 17 years old, the others 18. Police withheld the youngest teen’s name because of his age.

Under state law, minors possessing alcohol are cited for an infraction the first time and can be fined $200 to $500 for each subsequent offense.
