Police on Wednesday evening cited a 22-year-old Stamford man for drug infractions after he was stopped for speeding in New Canaan.
At about 5:08 p.m. on Jan. 18, an officer on patrol clocked a motorist traveling eastbound on Jelliff Mill Road at 45 mph in a 25 mph zone, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled marijuana in the vehicle, the report said.
The officer later found a multi-colored smoking pipe, small plastic bag of pot and rolling papers, it said.
Police cited the driver for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He additionally was cited for speeding.
