Police on Oct. 20 arrested a 19-year-old New Canaan woman and charged her with possession of a controlled substance, less than four ounces, and failure to keep drugs in their original container.
At about 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 20, a Thursday, officers went to Gower Road as part of an active narcotics investigation, according to a police report.
As a result of that investigation, police brought the charges listed above against the teen, arresting the Gower Road resident at about 9:45 p.m. that night, the report said.
It isn’t clear how long the investigation had been going on or what prompted it, what led to the misdemeanor charges, what drugs were involved or how much, how the teen obtained them or what she did with the substances to get arrested. Police withheld further information.
In a press report, the department said only: “The New Canaan Police continue to actively investigate the use of illegal narcotics and encourage any residents who have information regarding narcotic use or other criminal activity to utilize the MyPD app or the crime tip line at 203-594-3544.”
Police released the woman on $250 bond and scheduled her to appear Nov. 1 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
