Police on Monday night arrested a 24-year-old Greenwich man on a drug charge after stopping him for speeding on the Merritt Parkway.
At about 10:06 p.m. on Jan. 14, an officer traveling northbound on the parkway en route to a call for service noted the speeding motorist, according to a police report.
During a subsequent stop, the officer smelled marijuana in the man’s vehicle, the report said.
The officer during an investigation found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, it said. Police charged the man with possession with intent to sell or dispense.
The man was released on $5,000 bond and schedule to appear Jan. 24 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
