Police on Sunday night arrested a Smith Ridge Road man and woman at their home following a report that the man was intoxicated.
At about 10:15 p.m. on July 10, officers were dispatched to the home and found the man, 34, in the driveway, trying to get into the house, according to a police report.
The man became belligerent and “would not calm down” when police tried to get a handle on the situation, the report said.
Eventually, police restrained the man and charged him with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, the report said.
During their investigation, police also found that the woman, 33, had been involved an in altercation with him prior to phoning authorities, the report said.
She was charged with disorderly conduct.
Police released the man on $2,500 and scheduled him to appear July 11 in state Superior Court in Norwalk. Police released the woman after she promised to appear the same day.
