Police before dawn on Sunday arrested a 23-year-old Ridgefield woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 2:30 a.m. on March 6, an officer stopped a car traveling northbound on Smith Ridge Road because its high beams were on, according to a police report.
After approaching the car, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath, the report said.
The motorist failed field sobriety tests and declined to undergo breath tests, the report said.
Police additionally cited the woman for improper use of high beams.
She was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear March 17 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
