Police on Wednesday afternoon arrested a 32-year-old Fall River, Mass. man by warrant in connection with the burglary of a New Canaan home on the night of the Waveny fireworks two summers ago.

At about 1130 p.m. on July 4, 2017, officers were dispatched to a house on Wakeman Road on a report of a burglary earlier in the evening where about $80,000 in items had been stolen, according to police.

During an investigation the following April, authorities learned that several of the stolen items were being sold on eBay through a pawn shop in Fall River, according to a police report.

Investigators went there and identified the man who was selling the items, the report said.

They secured a warrant for first-degree burglary and first-degree larceny, both felony offenses.

On Dec. 4, police traveled to a prison in North Dartmouth, Mass. to take custody of the man, who had been incarcerated there on a separate matter.

He was held by police on $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear Thursday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
