Frozen yogurt purveyor Peachwave on Forest Street is slated to close Saturday, company officials say.
The licensee-model company on Saturday will close stores in New Canaan and Wilton (at the end of September, Peachwave President Gregg Roberts said), as well as Mt. Kisco, N.Y., according to Peachwave Regional Manager Ryan Ventura.
Though Peachwave here in New Canaan had many loyal customers, the shop was unable to generate a critical mass of regulars in order to make the business work, Ventura said.
“We really just want to thank our terrific team and customers in New Canaan, and let them know that we remain open in Norwalk, where we are still going strong,” Ventura told NewCanaanite.com.
The Norwalk store at 235 Main Ave. will remain (other Fairfield County locations include Shelton, Monroe, Danbury, Newtown, Ridgefield, Bethel, Danbury and Brookfield), while in New York, shops in Armonk, Hartsdale, Mohegan Lake and Rye will continue to operate, Ventura said.
When it opened in April 2014, Edmond, Okla.-headquartered Peachwave became New Canaan’s third froyo provider, together with Red Mango and Swirl, squeezing into a frozen treat market that also included Baskin-Robbins on Main Street and Gelatissimo Artisan Gelato across Forest. Red Mango closed last August.
