A 42-year-old Park Street woman faces a $460 fine after passing a school bus that was stopped, with lights flashing and stop sign extended, on Mead Street after school earlier this month.
At about 2:55 p.m. on Dec. 8 (a Monday), video surveillance showed, the woman passed the westbound school bus as she drove east on Mead (toward South Avenue), according to a police report.
The school bus driver, a 60-year-old New Canaan resident, reported the violation to police on Dec. 15, the report said.

Police arrested a 42-year-old New Canaan woman Thursday evening after an argument with her teenage daughter turned physical.
At about 6:21 p.m., the daughter called police to the family’s apartment at Canaan Parish on Lakeview Avenue on the report of a domestic dispute.
There, police found that the mother was intoxicated and had struck her daughter twice in the back, causing no physical injuries.
The mother was charged with second-degree breach of peace. She was released after promising to appear Dec. 19 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
