Police on Tuesday arrested a 33-year-old Springfield, Mass. woman by warrant in connection with a theft from a motor vehicle in New Canaan last summer.
The incident had occurred overnight on June 6, 2015, when a parked car on Oenoke Ridge Road had been entered and credit cards stolen from it, according to a police report.
Police conducted an investigation, obtained a warrant for the woman and served it more than one year later, at about 1:40 p.m. on June 28 after taking custody of her at the Hartford Police Department, the report said.
She was charged with second-degree identity theft, third-degree identity theft and two counts of illegal use of a credit card.
The arrest “is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the New Canaan Police Investigation section to bring the multiple suspects responsible for the overnight car break-ins that occurred during 2015 to justice,” police said.
The woman was held on $1,500 and scheduled to appear June 29 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
